A MAN from St Albans man was jailed for 15 months last week for his part in a brawl outside a city centre pub last year.
St Albans Crown Court heard how Daniel Moore, 28, of Creighton Avenue, had attacked Blacksmiths Arms landlord, Frazer Pearson, and staff member Brian Tibb when they tried to intervene in a fight that had broken out at closing time.
Mr Tibb was treated for cuts and bruises after being hit on the side of the head and Mr Pearson needed a total of 14 stitches after being punched and cut with a broken glass which Moore was swinging.
Defence barrister, Nick Barraclough, said Moore was not a belligerent man and that he did not realise he had a glass in his hand when he lashed out at the landlord.
Sentencing Moore for wounding, actual bodily harm and violent disorder, Judge Seddon Cripps said it was a serious incident caused by drinking to excess.
