From P. Rogers, Wootton:

I felt I needed to write regarding St Mary’s, as we hear so much which is negative about our hospital, the NHS and our doctors.

Recently, over six weeks, it was my privilege to be cared for at St Mary’s; the doctors, nurses and ward staff in ICU were exceptional.

Having said that, the other wards and staff, cope incredibly well under pressure from patient numbers.

Apart from the surgeons, where your life is in their hands; their role must be one of the hardest.

You cannot help but feel vulnerable while you are in hospital. So even a smile or kind words were such a reassurance.

All the staff at St Mary’s: theirs is so much more than just a job of work, they have capabilities of mending lives.

I am also blessed with the care and compassion of my district nurses, an excellent doctor’s surgery where, once more, they are under so much pressure.
