PARENTS of two St Catherine's School students will be running to raise money for the special school.

Nic and Michaela White, parents of Nathan and Daniel, are set to pound the streets of Portsmouth in the Great South Run on Sunday (October 21) to support the Ventnor charity.

The duo had planned to run the race last year but, after Michaela was diagnosed with a condition that affects her joints, their places were deferred.

They chose to support the school as it has made such a positive difference to their sons.

Michaela said: "Daniel has blossomed so much at St Catherine’s. With their support and understanding he has become the Daniel we remember and love and I cannot thank them enough for helping him find his way again.

"We are not scared for his future anymore and we know that finally his needs are being met.

"This September, our younger son Nathan also started at the school, and once again they are providing something that no mainstream school could. The school is a magical place — imagine a scaled down version of Hogwarts — full of love, laughter and music.

"They deserve every penny that is donated to them as they help so many children with special needs and disabilities."
