Another Isle of Wight school has joined the list of closures ahead of next week's teacher strike.

Christ the King College (CTK) is to shut to the majority of pupils on Thursday, March 2.

In a letter to parents, headteacher Andrew Montrose said: "We will be in the same position as the last day of action, when we opened for a small cohort of students.

"In essence, students will remain at home and we expect them to engage in the online activities which will be organised for them."

Students who came into the school on the last day of industrial action (February 1) can attend again, but must contact the school first.

CTK joins Carisbrooke and Medina College on the list of school's announcing closures.

 How to contact the school:

  • Parents should email caroline.curliss@christthekingcollege.co.uk by the end of tomorrow (Monday).

As the County Press reported, both the sites, which are run by the Isle of Wight Education Federation, will shut to most pupils.

Thursday will be the second day of industrial action from Island teachers (who are NEU members).

They're taking action over pay and funding.
