An Isle of Wight weather warning for wind is in place this morning (Wednesday), issued by the national Met Office.
Forecasters say a swathe of strong winds will sweep across the area, including the Island.
"Increasing west or northwest winds...remaining strong for much of the day," are expected by the Met Office.
Meanwhile, the IW Met Service is telling us to expect the worst of the weather later this morning.
According to the Met Office's warning, which started at 6am, "gusts of 40-50 mph are expected widely within the warning area, but some coastal areas, especially in parts of south and west Wales and Cornwall, could see gusts above 60-70 mph.
"Outbreaks of heavy rain or showers will accompany the strong winds."
The yellow weather warning will remain in place until 8pm.
