A new Isle of Wight restaurant overlooking the golden sands of Appley Beach will open later this month, with award-winning chefs serving a seasonal menu using Island produce.

Catch Seafood and Grill at Ryde - based above the Appley Beach Cafe - is the brainchild of Island couple Ben and Nikita Leal, who have more than 30 years of experience between them in the industry.

The restaurant aims to provide the Island’s best seafood dining experience, using locally sourced produce.

Customers can accompany their meal with a drink from Catch’s wine menu or choose one of their cocktails – put together by their in-house mixologist.

Nikita, director of Catch, said: “At Catch, we intent to combine great food and drink with a happy energy which reflects our incredible seaside setting.”

The restaurant had a successful soft launch on May 1, sponsored by Lobster Locations, the Island’s film and photographic location agency.

Attendees were treated to drinks and a selection of canapés showcasing some of the Catch’s signature dishes.

Catch is open to the public from midday Thursday, May 18, with booking advised to guarantee a table, particularly if you want a Solent view!
