To Make You Feel My Love and Feeling Good were the songs chosen by Wight Harmony, the Isle of Wight male barbershop chorus, when they entered the annual UK Barbershop Convention 2023 in Bournemouth.
The singers travelled from the Isle of Wight for the event at Bournemouth International Centre.
In total, there were 29 male barbershop choruses (choirs) contesting from all over the UK.
They all had to sing two songs in front of the audience and nine judges – three judges for each category - music, performance and singing.
The local a cappella singers were well-rehearsed, relaxed and ready for their performances.
Their preparation paid off when they came 11th.
This was an improvement of nine places since coming 20th in 2019.
They also raised their points by 13, to 1190 points, from 1177 in 2019.
The singers and their musical director, Dave Bryant, were over the moon, and said they were in 11th heaven.
