An Isle of Wight cafe has been the target of vandalism.

Pickle and Dill, based on Ryde's Union Street, has had its windows smashed.

It's believed to have happened in the early hours of this morning (Monday).

Although this is the first time Pickle and Dill has been targeted, the cafe said others in the town have suffered a similar fate, recently.

The business said: "Always a downside to fun happening in Union Street.

"Unfortunately this happens all too often, with many local shops this summer having the same issue up and down the High Street and Union Street.

"It's taken as a normal part of life of running a shop in the town which it really shouldn’t be!"

The cafe said it is reporting the incident to police.

The County Press has contacted Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary for a comment.
