A popular Isle of Wight town centre café/restaurant has announced it will close for the final time next month (October).

Jolliffes Eatery, on Shooters Hill, Cowes took to social media to announce the sad news.

The business, which is run by Adam Harbour, said: "It's been over three years since I took over this magnificent building and I honestly never knew what it means to so many people.

"Before we say goodbye, there is still time to drop by and see us before we close the doors.

"I would like to thank all of our customers for your ongoing support over the past few years."

The eatery operates from an historic, grade 2 listed building.

Following news of its closure, well-wishers flocked to Facebook to praise Jolliffes for its 'excellent food and customer service'.

It will close for final time on October, Sunday 1.
