Stephen Heard, Shanklin:

The Isle of Wight Council obviously do not care about the look of our beautiful Island and the way it is portrayed to its many visitors.

The scenes, published here, have remained like this throughout the summer and is a spot where many holidaymakers take a walk along the cliff path, in Shanklin.

It was once an area that was idyllic and a nice place to sit and take in the view.

Isle of Wight County Press: Shanklin clifftop.

You can see from the photographs that the seating area is surrounded by overgrown weeds. Who would want to sit here?

This council is shameful. Sandown is another area that the council should be ashamed of with many derelict buildings facing the sea. Locally, Sandown is known as "Beirut".

Isle of Wight County Press:

It's embarrassing for the residents of the Island having to hear tourists moaning about the state of the Island.

County Press, please publish these photographs and shame the council into doing something about it.
