Isle of Wight ferry sailings between East Cowes and Southampton continue to face problems today (Saturday).

As previously reported by the Isle of Wight County Press, the Red Funnel route is down to a one-boat service.

Red Falcon is away for routine maintenance in Falmouth, while Red Osprey broke down earlier, forcing its withdrawal from service.

Now, Red Eagle is the only ferry serving the route.

For a time, the route was suspended and passengers have since been warned about long delays.

Now, the 4.30pm from Southampton and the 3pm and 6pm from East Cowes have been cancelled.

In addition, 'due to limited crew' the 4.30am and 7.30pm from Southampton and the 6am and 9pm from East Cowes have been cancelled today, tomorrow and Monday.

Red Funnel said: "Due to the withdrawal of the Red Osprey, we are now operating a one boat service with severe delays for all booked vehicle traffic of up to 3 hours."

It has apologised for any inconvenience.
