James Rogers, Carisbrooke:

We have recently been informed that the Newport doctors' surgeries are out of space, not fit for purpose.

It has been suggested that a new surgery should be built on the site next to Asda, which is remote from town and inaccessible to most without transport.

I suggest that the solution would be to build new County Hall offices on that site and to convert the existing County Hall offices in the old part for the surgery and the newer section facing Coppins Bridge into much needed flats to help solve the housing crisis.

There is ample car parking and is accessible by all means.

The sale of the existing premises, The Dower House and the Carisbrooke premises, would go along way toward the conversion.
