You have been sending in more photos showcasing the success of Islanders at this year’s Isle of Wight Music, Dance and Drama Festival (IWMDDF).

Lovella-Faith won first place in the 8-9 years poem class, along with three bronze medals for prose, acting duo and choir.

Caleb Zinnes won cups for both classes he entered, gaining 87 marks in grade 7-8 jazz and syncopated and an incredible 90 marks for grade 7-8 piano recital.

Only a few days before his performances, Caleb passed his grade 8 in piano and is taught by his grandma, former concert pianist and Royal Academy of Music alumni Josephine Joliffe.

Nicolas Neacsu, a student at Binstead Primary School, was awarded a distinction in the contemporary piano grade 3-4 class.

Kayleigh Gabbi Tran won first place with distinction in all four classes she took part in at this year’s IWMDDF.

Taught by Karen Kingsley and a student at Nine Acres Primary, Kayleigh earned success in baroque music, modern composers, piano duet and sight-reading classes.

Kayleigh is ecstatic about her wins and looks forward to more live performances.

Sophie Cassford, who dances and competes with The Starlight Academy, placed third in the 13 years and over Acro section, with 85 points.

She has also been taking part in Starlight’s Rainbow classes to help children choreograph and enjoy dancing, with the group winning the 18 years and under special dance group category.

Toby and Ted Temple, taught by Elizabeth Melody Davies, entered IWMDDF for the first time and came away with gold medals.

Toby, who attends the Island Free School, was the winner of the grade 4-5 piano class, while Ted, a student at Freshwater and Yarmouth Primary, won the grade 2-3 piano class.

The successful siblings scored 84 marks in their respective categories.
