Thefts of bottles of spirits from the Isle of Wight's Waitrose store has prompted a police appeal.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has released a photo of a man officers would like to speak to as part of its enquiries.

Police say the bottles were stolen from the supermarket, in East Cowes, on April 12.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We recognise that shoplifting can often be accompanied by disorder, violence and threats, which creates an environment of fear for retail workers which is unacceptable.

"This is in addition to the impact that theft can have on businesses and consumers.

"The community are our eyes and ears, and we encourage you to keep reporting information to police relating to shoplifting."

If you know who this person is, please contact police on 101, quoting 44240158027.
