TWO people were hurt when their car struck a tree near Brading this evening (Tuesday).
Driven in appalling weather conditions this evening, the car left the road and collided with a tree, at Harding Shute, according to a spokesman for the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
An ambulance was called to the scene at 9.24pm.
The car’s two occupants - a man and a woman - were initially treated at the accident scene by firefighters before they were taken to A&E at St Mary’s Hospital, Newport, by ambulance.
The casualties were not seriously injured, the ambulance service spokesman added.
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service sent a duty officer from Ryde and appliances from Newport, Bembridge and Sandown, to the scene.
After they had carried out scene safety procedures, the fire crews returned to base at 10.41pm.
