THE ISLE of Wight Ramblers are celebrating the organisations 50th year in 2018.
Established in 1968, the walking group is planning a series of activities throughout the year.
There will be a special celebration on June 30, including an afternoon tea at Rookley and several planned walks. Kate Ashbrook, ramblers vice president, will be attending.
A number of footpath improvement projects are also planned, including a new permissive path from Rookley village to the Chequers Inn.
The group's Donate a Gate scheme is continuing to be a success and it is expected that the 200th gate will be installed during 2018.
