ONE OF the world's strongest men visited an Isle of Wight gym at the weekend.
Terry Hollands, who has a long and illustrious career lifting and pulling heavy objects, put on a demonstration over the weekend.
One of the top ten strongest men in the world, Terry, 38, from Kent, paid a visit to the Strong Room in Newport where he amazed the crowd of keen strong men and women with his remarkable feats.
Though the fire engine he was supposed to pull was called out on its way to the demonstration, he improvised by pulling a 2,000kg pickup truck tied to a 400kg tyre.
He also lifted some of the famous 100kg concrete Atlas Stones from the World’s Strongest Man television show, gave technical demonstrations, and took questions from the crowd.
Gym owner Scott Byrne said: “He’s a massive guy, he dwarfs all of us. He’s ginormous.
“Everyone took in a lot of information and got photos and autographs. It was a really good day.”
