EMERGENCY crews are dealing with a propane gas leak from a tanker near Arreton.
Two fire engines, one from Newport and the other from Shanklin, have isolated the tanker on the road between Blackwater and Arreton.
An Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman told the County Press: "The police have closed the road while the fire service isolates the tanker.
"We are making sure it is safe and have evacuated the area.
"The tanker has a propane gas leak."
*The road has since re-opened.
