THE Chequers Inn, in Rookley, could re-open just weeks after it shut its doors.
Sam and Donna Shaw announced they were closing the popular pub, and Shaw's Garage in Ryde, two weeks ago.
But according to the Isle of Wight branch of Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), the watering hole could be back up and running soon.
In a post on Wightwash.co.uk, CAMRA said: "The Chequers Inn, Rookley, will remain closed for the time being.
"Owner Richard Holmes said that the current business will have to be completely wound up before the pub can reopen and this may take several weeks.
"When it re-opens it will be under the control of the Holmes family again."
