TRIBUTE has been paid to a Biggin Hill teacher who died of brain cancer after raising thousands of pounds for charity during her illness.
Nicky Taylor, who was given only months to live when she was diagnosed four years ago, featured in the News Shopper, in September 2000, when she raised £9,000 for South Bromley HospisCare, which cared for her during her illness.
In September this year, she completed the Flora Light Challenge for women in Hyde Park in a wheelchair.
Her two children Charlotte, nine, and Joshua, six, have already begun raising more cash for the charity by taking part in a sponsored walk.
Mrs Taylor, 36, died at home, in Blackthorn Road, surrounded by family on September 26.
Her father Richard Dakin, 64, of Jail Lane, said: "I'm so proud of all Nicky achieved. She did a tremendous amount for charity. We will all miss her."
South Bromley HospisCare fundraiser Mary Vigar said: "Nicky was an inspiration to me in my work. Despite difficulties with her health she carried on raising money and remained a very witty and jolly person.
"In some ways she is still very much with us."
