A COMMUNICATIONS agency owned by an Isle of Wight councillor has won a national award.
Whitehouse Consultancy, owned by Cllr Chris Whitehouse, was named Communications Agency of the Year at the annual Renewable Energy Association Awards.
The team received the award for their work providing positive communications services to a range of energy and environment clients.
Cllr Whitehouse, chairman of The Whitehouse Consultancy, said: “We are delighted to receive this award and to stand alongside the other great finalists.
“It shows the contribution our team is making to the progress of renewables, clean energy and sustainability through their expert advice and campaigns that effectively support businesses to influence policy and politics.
“There is a high level of support for renewables which is crucially important when the climate agenda must remain a top priority for government.”
The awards were presented at a gala event in central London, hosted by BBC TV’s deputy politics editor, John Pienaar.
Cllr Whitehouse recently stepped down from his role as portfolio holder for Children's Service at the Isle of Wight Council to focus on his studies.
