BEACH-goers in Ryde have been warned to watch out after a steep drop appeared on the popular sands.
The Isle of Wight Council said it was investigating the situation with partners and advised anyone using the beach to use caution, particularly at high tide, when the drop will be covered by water.
"We are discussing with our partners the best option to remedy the situation as soon as possible so that people can enjoy the full benefits of the beach during the summer period," said an Isle of Wight Council spokesman.
The trench is close to Ryde Harbour.
