A NEW centre with the aim of promoting a learning society was opened in New Cross last Wednesday.
With 16 computers, internet access and courses including spreadsheets and customer care, it is the council's second Learndirect centre.
Deputy for lifelong learning councillor Katy Donnelly, who opened the centre, said: “We want to promote a learning society in which everyone, from whatever background, routinely expects to learn and upgrade their skills throughout life.”
The centre, in Astra House, Arklow Road, New Cross, is open from 9am to 7pm, Monday to Friday, and from 10am to 2pm on Saturday.
