RICHARD Durrant’s new show, Stringehenge, is coming to the Island next Friday, September 29.
Richard is an internationally acclaimed guitarist and composer who, since studying at the Royal College of Music, has performed his mix of classical, folk and jazz across the world.
The show, at the Quay Arts, Newport, is an acoustic collection of music, visuals and artwork inspired by the British Isles.
It includes performances on a six-string concert guitar, made from 5,000-year-old English oak, and the Uffington tenor guitar.
“I have a deep love of our landscape,” said Richard.
“When I’m up on the Sussex Downs, I often wish I could look inside the hills. When I play music, it’s almost as if I can.”
