Community groups in the borough of Barnet have benefited from National Lottery handouts as part of the ongoing Millennium celebrations.
The latest Millennium Festival Awards for All, announced on Tuesday, gave a total of £47,483 to the following ten groups: Barnet Senior Citizens Forum; Childs Hill School Centenary Trust; Compass (Central Orgainsation for Maritime Pastimes and Sports Supports Services), a division of the Sea Training Corps in Hendon; Finchley Arts Centre; Friends of Barnet Schools Music Services; Friends of The Welsh Harp Youth Sailing Base; North London Leadership, whoich promotes private sector involvement in redevelopment projects; Sangam Senior Citizens, the Asian women's group in Burnt Oak; The Sub-Sahara Refugee Organisation and The Wilf Slack Young Cricketers Development Trust which has a new ground in East End Road, Finchley.
