WEST END star Layton Williams returned to Ryde Academy.
Layton — who played the lead role in Billy Elliot In the West End and has now resumed his role as Seaweed Stubbs in Hairspray — taught two dance workshops.
The first session involved students from Years 7 to 9 and focused on musical theatre and jazz.
The second targeted the school’s most promising dancers, who were taught a commercial routine.
The second group where then treated to a question and answer session, where they were given industry advice regarding auditions, rehearsal etiquette, networking and how to cope with the demands of the professional dance industry.
Dance teacher Hilary Seaton said: “It was fantastic to have Layton back working with our students and sharing his knowledge and experience of dance and being a professional performer.”
