Re: M A Graves' letter on the PDSA (News Shopper, October 17). I would just like to say I agree with this person.
All my life I have supported the PDSA and its work, even doing its collecting with a friend on mine in South Lancing, East Sussex. But a few years ago, I changed my mind.
My son had a dog, Honey, which needed an operation.
My son, out of work at the time and on the dole, went to the PDSA and asked if it would perform the operation which was necessary to save her life.
He was told it could not and he would have to pay.
He eventually managed to borrow the money from various members of the family and paid to have her operation performed.
This prolonged her life by about three years.
I would not support the PDSA now because it is no longer there, like it used to be, for all sick animals.
