April 12, 2001 11:28: BROMLEY Community Safety Partnership has reached the final stage in its bid for funding to install CCTV in the Cray Valley area.
The Partnership, a collection of community groups in Bromley, submitted a bid to the Home Office in December for £500,000 funding. Out of 800 applications, the bid is one of 300 to be short-listed for further consideration, with the final decision expected in the summer. If successful, the security cameras will be sited in six main areas around the Cray Valley, comprising St Mary Cray and St Paul's Cray.
Councillor Rob Yeldham, chairman of Bromley's Community Safety Partnership said: "This is excellent news for the Crays."
