A WOMAN who shares her birthday with a slightly more famous centenarian celebrated in style on Saturday.

Dorothy Neale was born a year to the day after the Queen Mother and as the nation toasted the much-loved royal, staff at Sundridge Park Nursing Home made sure their birthday-girl was not left out.

They put up banners at the home in Edward Road, Bromley, and Mrs Neale's daughter-in-law and two grandchildren also visited.

Secretary Wendy van Gelder said: "She really is a lovely woman and a pleasure to be around."

Born in Bristol, Mrs Neale has lived in Bromley for 50 years. She was married to her husband, Charles, for 62 years before his death in 1994.
