A CHARITY which had its birthday cash stolen was given a boost when its plight was reported in the News Shopper.
Carers Information and Support Service (CISS) had cash stolen from the till twice in the run up to its 10th anniversary.
When staff at The Glades centre read the News Shopper piece on October 3, they wanted to help as The Glades will also be 10 this month.
They presented a cheque for £1,000 to CISS, represented by the Barton family, from Napier Road.
The family uses the service to help care for Vincent, 10, who has cerebral palsy and needs 24-hour care.
Vincent's mother Delia Barton said: "Without the help we receive from CISS, Vincent couldn't live with the family. The charity is excellent and its work is very important."
