MUSIC legend Neil Young has been revealed as the Sunday night headliner for this year’s Isle of Wight Festival.
The star had been tipped to be playing Glastonbury, but today (Thursday) Isle of Wight Festival organiser John Giddings announced he would be coming to the Island this June.
“I have tried every year since we restarted the event to book Neil Young.
“His music is part of my life and has inspired generations ever since. I’m sure that his performance will be talked about for years to come,” said Mr Giddings.
During the late 1960s and 1970s Canadian Neil Young established himself as one of the most respected songwriters in the world with albums such as Harvest and its US number one single Heart of Gold.
He joins a bill already featuring acts including The Prodigy, Basement Jaxx, Stereophonics, Razorlight and The Charlatans.
