THIS year's Annual Women's World Day of Prayer Service is being held at 8pm on Friday, March 1 at the Methodist Chapel in Flackwell Heath and has been organised by the women of Romania on the theme 'Challenged to Reconcile'. This non-denominational service provides a wonderful opportunity for people to come together in unity and to be a part of a world wide service which has been translated into 1,000 different languages for use throughout the world on this day. Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be provided after the service.

THE former writer of this column, Christine Hobbs, who has always enjoyed taking part and compiling quizzes had one of her ideas used in the Early Morning Show on Radio 2 last Sunday. The show goes out between 5am and 7am and the answers will be revealed this Sunday. She has also been sent a Question of Sport polo shirt for offering some Picture Board connections to the show and her most recent prize was on Steve Wright's Radio 2 Big Quiz when she won a boxed set of six CDs chosen by the Beatles musical arranger George Martin.

FOOTBALL. The 1st XI beat Clapton 2-0 with goals from Alex Jeffries and Gary Wiltshire. Saturday, February 23 they are at home to Ware at 3pm. The reserves drew 0-0 at Leighton.
