From Andrew Pellow, choirmaster of St Alban’s Church, Upper Ventnor:

FOLLOWING chapel warden Alan Philpott’s letter (CP, 28-02-14) about our need for a donkey, I am pleased to tell you there was an immediate response from the proprietors of Rill Farm, Niton — Mr and Mrs Rod Jordan.

Their rescue donkey, Beryl, will be heading the procession on Palm Sunday, April 13, starting from St Francis Primary School in Newport Road, Upper Ventnor, at 9am. The solemn sung mass for Palm Sunday will be at St Alban’s Church at 9.30am.
