GRAFFITI covering Swanscombe town centre will not be tolerated any more with youths being targeted by parents, police, schools and the town council.
The Mayor of Swancombe and Greenhithe, Councillor Conrad Broadley, is calling on parents to study the graffiti which is covering various buildings, in an effort to work out the culprits identities.
He hopes they will be able to match the trade mark signatures of the artists with their own childs initials.
Police patrols will also be stepped up and special constables brought into areas where graffiti has been reported.
A North Kent police spokesman said: We are speaking to residents in the area and asking them to gather as much evidence as possible.
Having identified the youths, we will then speak to their parents and will intervene on whatever level, depending on the seriousness of the problem and how they co-operate.
Swanscombe Town Council, which is getting a machine to remove the graffiti, is also asking teachers and pupils to co-operate.
Leader of the town council, Councillor Bryan Read said: There are one or two people who are causing all the trouble.
We have now approached the local schools to try and identify them.
