THE last remaining footpath restrictions imposed in Bexley because of the foot-and-mouth outbreak have been lifted.
The rights of way in Joydens Wood and next to Woodlands Farm, on the Welling-Shooters Hill borders, are being reopened by Bexley Council following the latest guidance from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
Bexley is also publicising the Walkers' Code and asking residents to take special care to protect the countryside from future outbreaks of the disease.
The code urges people who have handled livestock within the last seven days to stay off farmland, not to touch or feed livestock when walking and to start walks with clean clothing and footwear.
