THE Island proved it has got talent — lots of it.

Performers of all ages took part in a variety show to raise funds for the Friends of St Mary’s Hospital.

Organisers Ron Lansdale and principal of the Dance Vibes school of dance, Ann Abe, chose the Friends at the suggestion of the group’s Steve Solley.

Sixty Dance Vibes dancers, aged between seven and 15, and dancers from the Gillian Cartwright School of Dance took part together with students from Broadlea and The Bay Primary School. Music, song and comedy completed an eclectic variety line-up.

Ann said: "As well as being fabulous fun and raising money for a good cause the Shanklin Theatre show showcased talent.

"It was so good we’re going to do it again on April 22 and make it an annual show after that," she said.
