Wight Sun takes to the water at a ceremony in the Kraljevica Shipyard, Croatia, the third new Wightlink ferry to be built there.
WIGHT Sun came out to join her two sister ships in Croatian waters.
The newly launched Wightlink ferry is destined for the Yarmouth-Lymington route, joining Wight Light and Wight Sky.
It completes a £24 million investment in the route and is part of £57 million being injected by Wightlink into its cross-Solent routes.
The launch at the Kraljevica Shipyard coincided with release of an environmental impact assessment that concluded the new, bigger ships would have no greater impact than the existing fleet.
The first two ships are being sailed to Britain by Wightlink crews in the coming weeks but cannot enter service until the new linkspan planned for Lymington gets the environmental go-ahead.
If it gets approval, the new ferries are not expected to be in service before the autumn.
