SHE may be about to turn 90 but Joyce Wright has no plans to take it easy.
After realising her lifetime ambition of jumping out of a plane in July, the sprightly great-grandmother, of Merrie Gardens, Lake, is planning a second skydive to celebrate her 90th birthday in February.
She leapt out of a plane at Sandown Airport, raising funds for Sandown and Shanklin Independent Lifeboat and liver cancer charity AMMF.
Daughter Marilyn Butler said her mother could not resist a challenge.
"Skydiving was something she had always wanted to do. My brother said, 'What's stopping you?'
"She said nothing at all and the next thing I knew she had booked it," said Marilyn, 70, who runs a Shanklin gift shop with her husband, Dave.
"I can't even sit next to the window on a plane but mum loves flying. She went on a hot-air balloon ride for her 80th birthday.
"I keep wondering what she might do next."
Joyce's family are to turn out in force for her 90th birthday skydive - in fact, she will be cheered on by her three children, seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Marilyn said: "Mum is very independent. She lives at home and does her own shopping and gardening.
"I think she does things like this just because she can."
