Four of the Isle of Wight's residential care homes are to be treated to an evening of musical entertainment from the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra next week.
The orchestra is Island-bound for a programme of school workshops, and is using the opportunity to give care home residents the chance to listen to orchestral musicians perform together.
Independent Arts, the Island-based charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for people through creative activities, arranged the performances at Downside and Ward House in Ventnor on Tuesday 26 and at Fairview and Vecta House, Newport, on Friday 29.
"We were thrilled to be able to help and always support really fruitful partnership work such as this," said project manager Hannah Griffiths.
"The care homes were so pleased to receive the offer and are really looking forward to their performances."
The musicians, who have offered their time and skills free of charge, will perform in small ensembles, and each of the homes plan to make an event of the evening by inviting relatives and staff along too.
