Barry Price, transport controller at West Middlesex Hospital, has started a sponsored slim to help raise funds for a dedicated cancer care unit at the Isleworth hospital.
The Pulse Appeal is grateful for the support of 21-stone Barry who admits he has an ulterior motive for shedding a few pounds.
For his marriage to Veronica Tweedy, who also works in the transport department, has been an added incentive as Barry pledges to lose almost three stone by January 31, 1999.
