CP honours theatre stars

EXCELLENCE in the Island’s theatrical scene was celebrated last night at the 11th annual County Press Amateur Theatre Awards.

Hundreds of the Isle of Wight’s amateur directors and actors, as well as people involved in all aspects of the Island’s lively and diverse stage world, crammed into Shanklin Conservative Club, where their achievements throughout the year was honoured.

Among those scooping top awards were 18-year-old Joe Plumb, who walked away with the best director award, and Steve and Helen Reading from the RedTIE theatre company, who won one of the evening’s top awards for their services to the Island amateur stage.
