A CHARITY dinosaur-themed chocolate bar, that proved to be a roaring success after it made money for cancer causes, is being produced again in its thousands to make even more cash.

Last year, following the death of their friend, Jean Reaney, to cancer, Shanklin fossil enthusiasts, Jim and Christine Isted, wanted to support causes close to the heart of her family by producing and selling the 2,000 Jurassic Jim Dino Bars they had commissioned.

The sale of the bars made £200 in aid of the Jean Reaney Trust, which was split between the Macmillan Nurses and Pancreatic Cancer Research.

The couple, who own Jurassic Jim fossil and gemstone shop in Shanklin, commissioned a further 5,000 bars, which are now on sale at the shop and newsagents and sweet shops around the Island.

Mr Isted, of Trinity Road, Ventnor, said he was delighted by the response to the chocolate bar last year and hopes to more than double the donation this year.

He added: "Pancreatic cancer is a terrible illness that took our lifelong friend. All the bars sold out and allowed us to make the donation."
