Ecoisland's bid for chart success

Isle of Wight singer Derek Sandy has teamed up with Ecoisland to release an Eco-anthem. Picture by Jennifer Burton.

SINGER Derek Sandy is hoping for a green-themed Isle of Wight Christmas number one.

He has teamed-up with Ecoisland boss David Green to record a new 'eco-anthem’ to inspire people to get behind the campaign.

The track, dubbed 'Ecoisland’ is written and performed by Derek and David and was recorded in a garage in Ryde. It is available on the iTunes and CD Baby websites.

Profits will go towards sustainable projects on the Isle of Wight with a further 10 per cent going to help victims of Hurricane Sandy.

The video for the song was previewed to a VIP crowd at the recent Ecoislands global summit to great applause and a standing ovation, an Ecoisland spokesman said.

Alex Dyke played the song on his Radio Solent show on Wednesday.

Hmmn, now let me see, Christmas No.1.

Military Wives with Stronger Together?

Or Sir Paul McCartney/Robbie Williams with He ain't heavy?

Or Rayban Green and Derek Sandy with Ego-island?

Its a tough choice and no mistake!

Eco-Island, hmmm, it's nothing like it was when I was young. It used to be nice sixty years ago but there are too many people here now, with too many cars, and too many bright ideas.

@ALBERT ROAD - sorry meant to say 10 passengers equate to 5 or more cars, even less congestion!

@ALBERT ROAD, five passengers is probably the equivalent of at least two cars, maybe three. That's less congestion on the road.

I haven't heard this masterpiece yet but it can only be a remix of one of three songs, "I'm in the money", "Money, money, mnoney" by Abba or "I'm going slightly mad" by Queen.
Late news flash is that when the current "eco friendly" cars are taken back by the suppliers a fleet of Methane powered cars with their fuel derived from huge amounts of bull poo will be delivered but the manufacturers are having problems fitting the speed limiters, dump valves and parachute braking caused by the over abundance of fuel on the Island.

Ha ha, "VIP" crowd!

Like who?

Quentin Wilson? Andrew 3 homesTurner?..

Yet another attempt by Rayban Green to get himself "noticed"and back in the CP, which wouldn't be hard, after getting unexpectedly beaten in the Suoerhero Contest.

"Alex Dyke played the song on his Radio Solent show yesterday" - even more reason to stay away from it.

Anyone signed up with Scottish Electric for Community Energy yet?

Don't forget poor old SSE ONLY made a 38% increase in their ptofits in the 3rd quarter of 2012, just after putting up their prices by 9%., so give then (and Rayban) your support and your money.
