Ellen MacArthur with some of the youngsters who have benefitted from the work of the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust.
AN ISLE of Wight-based charity has expanded north of the border.
The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust was launched in 2003 to give young people recovering from cancer the chance to rebuild their confidence through sailing.
The charity has launched a Scottish hub in Largs and appointed Mark Lamble, who has worked as a trust skipper, as manager and fundraiser for Scotland.
Thanks to £125,000 from players of People’s Postcode Lottery, the expansion comes as part of a three-year plan to double the number of young people recovering from cancer to benefit from the charity’s sailing opportunities.
