NEW Year's Day saw five babies – three boys and two girls – born at St. Mary’s Hospital.
The first to arrive was a baby boy for Helen and Mark Kingston, of Newport, at 6.13am. Baby Arthur weighed in at 8lb 7oz.
He was followed at 1.00pm by Alice Turvey, a daughter for Grace and Luke Turvey, who weighed in at 7lb 10oz.
Next to arrive was a son for Katie and James Homes, of East Cowes, at 1.08pm. Baby Woody weighed in at 8lb 5oz.
Last to arrive was Romy Florence born at 5.28pm, a daughter for Claire and James Hoyal of Shanklin, who weighed in at 7lb 13oz.
Another baby boy was born, but the parents did not want any publicity.
