A CHRISTMAS pop-up shop is to open on the Isle of Wight as part of a Young Enterprise project.

Students at the Clatterford tuition centre in Newport have designed and produced their own products to sell, including ceramic and textile decorations, photographic Christmas cards, cookie jars for Santa and decorated sweet jars.

The shop will be based at the former Island Images cafe in Newport High Street and will open from Monday to next Friday, December 14, between 9.30am and 4.30pm, with an extended opening time to 9pm Thursday evening.

Cllr Dawn Cousins, Isle of Wight Council cabinet member responsible for children’s services and education said: "Young Enterprise is a fantastic opportunity for the students, an opportunity they may not otherwise be able to access.

"Clatterford has built a strong reputation for community art projects and I am sure this new pop-up shop venture will prove just as popular."
