What is the point of school league tables when parents haven't a choice with their children's education?
No matter how hard a child works, they are refused entry into the school of their choice.
How many other children and parents have been disappointed this year?
The trauma of passing bad news to their kids is something parents should not be going through.
Moving from junior to secondary school is traumatic enough without being classified as worthless, because that is how a 10-year-old feels when there is no place for them in their chosen school and the only vacancies are in schools on the other side of their borough which are under subscribed because nobody wants their children there.
How demoralising this is for an 11-year-old having to travel one to two hours each way to a school he or she doesn't want to attend?
