A MAN has been airlifted to the Royal London Hospital, and his passengers taken to Watford General after a car crash where the occupants of the other vehicle walked away without injury.

The accident happened near the junction of Harrow Way at around 9.30am on Thursday, in Little Oxhey Lane, South Oxhey, when a blue Ford Fiesta containing three young men collided head-on with a turquoise Wrangler Jeep.

Firefighters had to cut off the car's roof off to free the Fiesta driver and back-seat passenger, but the front seat passenger managed to get out by himself.

The driver sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital, while his front and back seat passengers were taken to Watford General, with what police call "serious but not life-threatening injuries."

Witnesses to the accident can telephone PC Richard Lilley at the Western Area Policing Unit on 01923 472388.
