HARLOW MP Bill Rammell has continued his campaign to keep as much sport as possible on terrestrial television.

After joining forces with the BBCs Match of the Day commentator Barry Davies, Mr Rammell hosted a meeting at the House of Commons.

He told fellow MPs the future of British sport depended on attracting new young players, but if terrestrial channels were barred from showing full coverage of top sports, this would not happen.

He said: If youngsters do not develop interest, passion and enthusiasm for top sports through television, tomorrows players, club members and viewers will be lost to the game.

I want to see all young people able to watch top quality sport regardless of whether their parents can subscribe to exclusive sports channels.
