Hunt for vandal

THOUSANDS of pounds worth of damage was caused to parked cars at the weekend.

Police have appealed for witnesses after at least five cars in Monkton Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight had wing mirrors removed.

PC Martin Rogers of the Ryde Safer Neighbourhoods team said: "This mindless vandalism is estimated to have caused several thousands of pounds of damage.

"A man wearing a hooded top was seen acting suspiciously in the area overnight between Friday, April 27 and Saturday, April 28.

"Someone knows who was responsible and we are appealing for anyone with information about their identity to contact police or Crimestoppers."
